September 26, 2026 · Cart Grove Way Editors

As of September 26, consumer acceptance of South Korean skincare brands in the Japanese market has stabilized. A survey conducted in September by PA Communication and Neo Marketing—polling 485 female consumers aged 20 and older who had purchased South Korean skincare products within the past six months—revealed that 94.2% intend to continue purchasing these products, with support rates exceeding 93% across all age groups. Regarding purchasing decisions, value for money was cited as the primary factor (66.4%). Consumers in their 30s and 40s placed greater emphasis on ingredients and product gentleness, whereas those in their 20s prioritized following current trends. Compared to Japanese brands, South Korean brands held a distinct advantage in trend responsiveness (75.5%) and packaging design, while Japanese brands were more highly regarded for product quality and brand storytelling.
